Grizzly Bear Family Eating Berries in Jasper National Park (HD)

Grizzly bears diets vary widely. They may eat seeds, berries, roots, grasses, fungi, deer, elk, fish, dead animals and insects. In July and August, Bears in fortunate areas may rely on ripening berries for a major food source. As late summer and early fall approaches, grizzlies enter a state called "hyperphagia", of which is a period of 2-4 months when they intensify their calorie intake to put on weight faster before winter denning.
